Fall 2016 Week 7/8 Recap
This week was YUUUUGE!Monday, November 14, 2016
Week 7 and 8 are in the books, and the race is getting tight everywhere!
Over in the A bank, once again Aaron Burke takes top spot, putting up two new high scores on Godzilla (616M) and World Cup Soccer (2B) to complete the bank with 632 points. Don’t call it a comeback, but in second place with 621 points, Joe Kiskis is back on the board. Brian Goebbel with a solid week in the 4th spot with 583 points. Rod Lawrence takes high score on Monster Bash with 340M, while Bryan Wanosky picks up second place with a very impressive 220M. Mark F Brown OH takes the new lead on Tron with a 91M, Zak Bowers 213M on Kiss for the new high. And, state champion Will Heaney christens Johnny Mnemonic with a 5.1B.
The B bank was nothing short of .. well … when it comes to the end of the season, Rod Lawrence is just downright terrifying. A man possessed by the spirit of 3 Musketeers nougat, he takes the lead for “highest point week” with an astounding 717 points, grabbing first place on Medieval Madness, Attack From Mars, and T2, and rounding out his games a 2nd on Funhouse, 3rd on Getaway, and 24th on GNR. I was playing with Rod for this bank, and it was just an amazing thing to watch. Starting ball 3 on T2 with two prior house balls garnering him 4M. Just. Unbelieveable. Way to go Rod!
And once again we have an “In what league does a (massive score) get you second on (some game)? You guys are out of control. Mark F Brown OH put up a 507M on Getaway, only to be beat by John Delzoppo with a 519M. Rod’s 23M on Funhouse was trumped (HA! because elections) by Michael Neuhoff’s incredible 28M.
Movers and Standings
And in the “well would ya look at this” column, George Klepacz turning on the jets the last three weeks, scoring 503, 475 and 528, bumping him up to 26th place, 73 points out of the A division. The biggest movers for 7/8 are Mark Terveen (+18), Jay Bonning (+12), Bryan Wanosky (+11), Nick Rudert (+10), Nick Stroup (+9), Bob Koster (+8) and Ryan Grant, Michael Hodge, and Rosanna Secunde all with a (+7).
